Who We Are
Molteno Couture by Rose Molteno ("we", "us", or "our") is the responsible party for personal information collected through this website and our couture services. We are based at 12 Price Drive (Bonair), Wittenboomen, Constantia, Cape Town, South Africa. This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, who may process it for us, how long we keep it, and the choices available to you.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the website or work with us, we may collect:
- Your name, email address, telephone number, messages, and newsletter preference
- Booking details such as service, event and venue information, preferred appointment, budget, style and fabric preferences, and how you heard about us
- Style quiz answers, measurements provided during our service, and fitting notes
- Inspiration notes and images you choose to upload
- Quotes, orders, payments, correspondence, and feedback
- Technical and usage information, including IP address, browser and device information, referring page, landing page, campaign parameters, and website interactions
We collect this information from you, from your device when you use the website, and from a parent, guardian, or authorised person who contacts us for you.
Why and How We Use Information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries; arrange consultations; prepare and perform our services; manage fittings, orders, payments, and client relationships; protect the website from abuse; keep business and legal records; and improve our website and services. We send newsletters or other electronic marketing only where permitted and provide a way to opt out.
Our legal grounds depend on the context. They include your consent; taking steps at your request before entering an agreement; performing an agreement with you; complying with legal obligations; and our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving our business where those interests do not override your rights. You may withdraw consent or object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting us.
Cookies and Browser Storage
We use necessary first-party browser storage to remember website functions, attribution, booking progress, and style quiz progress. Draft form and quiz information stays in your browser and is sent to us only if you submit the relevant form. You can remove it with the available Start Over or Remove controls, or by clearing your browser data.
We use Google Analytics to measure website visits and interactions. We do not send names, email addresses, telephone numbers, messages, measurements, uploaded images, or other form contents to Google Analytics. Advertising storage, advertising user data, advertising personalisation, and Google Signals are disabled.
Where consent is required, Google Analytics does not load unless you select Allow. Where analytics is otherwise enabled, you can still disable it below. Your choice is stored in your browser and can be changed at any time.
Who We Share Information With
We share information only where necessary with service providers working for us, our professional advisers, authorities where legally required, and another party if our business is reorganised or transferred. Our main website providers are:
- Cloudflare, for website delivery, security, database and uploaded-file storage
- Cloudflare Turnstile, for form abuse and bot protection
- Brevo, for operational email notifications containing submitted contact details
- Google Analytics, for optional website measurement
- Sanity, for website content management
We do not sell personal information.
International Processing
Some providers may process information outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we use providers and safeguards intended to meet applicable data-protection requirements, including contractual protections where appropriate.
How Long We Keep Information
We retain enquiries, bookings, orders, uploaded files, and communications only for as long as needed to provide services, maintain appropriate business and tax records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe or we no longer need a record of your preference. Security and rate-limit records are kept for the period needed to prevent abuse. Google Analytics user-level and event-level data is kept for no longer than 14 months where that setting applies. We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure. No internet service is completely secure, but we review our safeguards and limit administrative access.
Your Rights
Subject to applicable law and lawful limitations, you may ask us to:
- Confirm whether we hold personal information about you and provide access to it
- Correct, update, delete, or destroy inaccurate or unlawfully held information
- Object to certain processing or ask us to restrict it
- Withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing
- Stop direct marketing or unsubscribe from newsletters
- Receive portable information where applicable
You may also lodge a complaint with the South African Information Regulator. Its current contact and complaint channels are available at inforegulator.org.za. We do not use submitted information to make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Children
A parent or legal guardian should submit enquiries and booking requests for anyone under 18. If you believe a child submitted personal information without the required permission, please contact us so we can address it.
